My obligatory post about Clemens' testimony before Congress
If you would like to read an abundance of in-depth posts about Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte and Brian McNamee, Sox and Pinstripes is not the ultimate destination. Though I imagine Vince will address the topic at times since the circus includes one current Yankee, one former Yankee and one former Yankees trainer, there is not a whole lot else to say. Clemens, McNamee, their lawyers and certain Congressmen are harming their respective reputations a little more as each day passes.
It is obvious to me that Andy Pettitte's deposition contradicts Clemens' claims, which is not a surprise. The medical professionals' comments that images of the spot on Clemens' rear region are consistent with steroid injections and not B-12 or Lidocaine are further damning to the Rocket, as is the fact the McNamee told the truth about Pettitte's and Chuck Knoblauch's involvement in illegal performance-enhancing drugs. It is unlikely that McNamee is being honest about Pettitte and Knoblauch, and dishonest about Clemens
I wholeheartedly believe that Clemens repeatedly used steroids and HGH. I also believe that Pettitte used HGH repeatedly, and not just a few times to recover from injuries. That said, I am already tired of these hearings, and hope that baseball moves forward in a positive direction. I look forward to opening day, when at least the Mitchell Report will not be the only baseball-related news.
